“Thanks to my four years of study at THEi, I built a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge and technical skills. Lecturers always inspired us to think critically, and organised local and overseas food industrial visits to enrich our learning with practical experiences. THEi has helped me to develop my professional career and build up my confidence and values.”

Work-Integrated Learning

“During my internship tour at the ZSCDCD, my main task was handling different samples and learning the main pathogenic bacteria related to daily food or other commercial products and their respective detection methods. The detection method was performed on samples like roasted meat, surgery packages and sanitary pad of different brands.

The main tests performed included the preparation of different agar and broths, performing the PCR test for Salmonella (沙門氏菌), testing the Legionella pneumophila (退伍軍人桿菌) content in the water of the air-conditioning system of various hotels, etc. It was an eye-opening experience to me!”
