- “Before studying at THEi, I have spent four years in Scotland. I then decided to come back to Hong Kong when I found THEi was offering an aircraft engineering course. For now, we are learning basic knowledge such as maintenance practices and calculus, but I am excited to learn 3D modelling later. With all the professional facilities and experienced lecturers from the aviation industries, I get to know more about aviation and can be prepared to enter the industry.”
LAU Ho Wong, Hugo
BEng (Hons) in Aircraft Engineering
Year 1 student
- “I completed a Higher Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and worked at the testing department of an aero-engine overhaul company in Hong Kong before joining THEi. I am particularly interested in running engine test excites as I can feel the power from the exhaust.
- With the variety of professionals and resources available, I have chosen to study here since THEi can strengthen my foresight and help me develop a bright future with my enthusiasm in aviation technology.”

“What comes to your mind when you see an aircraft landing? For me, it’s the honour and privilege derived from bringing the passengers to their destination safely and on time. Also, it’s always more rewarding to declare an aircraft serviceable.
The programme shows a great balance of theory and practical skills while giving me various opportunities to reach out to experts in this field and companies, like the GFS, not to mention the practical training every summer. Choosing THEi is a great start of my career!”
