Greetings. Welcome to the website of the School of General Education and Languages.
The degree programmes in THEi have been designed to produce graduates who are not only experts in their specialist professions but are flexible with broadly-applicable generic skills. General Education (GE) is an important component of the undergraduate curriculum. The School is dedicated to preparing students for professional success, lifelong learning and whole-person development through a GE curriculum that is founded in the broad perspectives of the Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences, which will cultivate broadly-applicable generic skills, language competencies, and values.
The School is committed to working with all Faculties in THEi to offer students a range of General Education (GE) modules to broaden their knowledge base and perspectives. In order to maintain and improve the quality of the GE Programme, we build a culture of continuous improvement to assess and improve the pedagogy of the Programme to benefit students’ learning.
Taking a student-centred approach, the School organises co-curricular activities which complement the formal curriculum, enhance students’ language skills and enrich their campus experience.
My dedicated colleagues and I pledge to excel in quality teaching and in student-staff engagement.
