Aircraft Engineering Handmade Aeroplane Flight Competition

Forums, Workshops & Seminars

The Aircraft Engineering Programme organized a Handmade Aeroplane Flight Competition on 20 September 2019 for 53 Secondary 6 students from the Aberdeen Baptist Lui Ming Choi College.

The Competition was preceded by a brief lecture on aeronautical knowledge and glider construction techniques offered by Mr Jack LO, Programme Leader of the Aircraft Engineering Programme.  Students then demonstrated the fundamental knowledge and techniques they acquired in the 1-hour long construction period, followed by the launching of the newly constructed aeroplanes by each group.

Through the lecture and hands-on designing and construction of handmade aeroplanes, student managed to gain practical experience and learn more about the aviation industry in Hong Kong.  Special gifts were awarded to the winning teams by Professor KL PUN, Acting Dean of FST.
