Dr. Vanessa Liu (left), Associate Professor and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Public Relations and Management and Retail Management Programmes, Faculty of Management and Hospitality warmly greeted star guest speaker, Ms. Tina Wong (right), Co-founder and Director, Yello Sports Marketing for business case studies sharing on proactive brand communication and crisis communication for MPM5402 Contemporary Issues in Public Relations.  The module aims to bridge senior year students’ communications expertise closely with the employment market and to broaden their horizons with topical business cases not found in textbooks.

Think macro, go micro; plan for the best, expect the worst; create a talk-of-the-town event; go beyond the sports page and use social media to your advantage are but some of the key takeaways on communications and event management from Ms. Tina Wong’s multi-faceted 90 minutes in-depth sharing session for PRM Year 4 students who are going to graduate and be work-ready in June 2018. Ms. Wong is a role model for young people having received the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service and also the Hong Kong Distinguished Women Volunteers Award in 2011.  Her energy and passion in marketing sports is seen in her community work in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai Expo and with her company Yello Sports Marketing spearheading the organisation of high profile tournaments like the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open and Hong Kong Masters snooker tournament in 2017.
