The programme aims to train a new breed of healthcare administrators and nutritionists for the rapidly expanding healthcare industry. It covers a wide range of subjects in the foundation studies, including infection control, patient care, geriatric care, etc. Starting from Year 3, the programme will be divided into specialist streams in ‘Health Administration’ and ‘Nutrition and Health’. Internship opportunities in healthcare institutions will also be provided to students for them to gain practical experience and enhance their employability.
Graduates will be able to hold administrative posts in government, subverted or private medical or healthcare institutions, or serve as project officer in rehabilitation centres or wellness and nutrition business organizations. After gaining sufficient work experience, they can be promoted to the management level.
With the continuing trend of aging of Hong Kong’s population, coupled with the construction or commissioning of Kai Tak Children’s Hospital, Tin Shui Wai Hospital and Wong Chuk Hang Hospital and expansion of service by many major hospitals, there is a huge demand for healthcare personnel and specialists. The industry not only provides lots of job positions to graduates of this programme, practitioners can have the opportunities of upward mobility in their career.
- Students who completed Year 2 and fulfilled all requirements will be eligible to register as Health Worker in Residential Care Homes for The Elderly, and Health Worker in Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities, and
- Students who completed the programme will be qualify to become Associates of Hong Kong College of Health Services Executives (HKCHSE).
Entrance Requirements for Year 1:
Level 3 or above in the HKDSE English Language and Chinese Language; AND Level 2 or above in the HKDSE Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one Elective Subject; OR Equivalent.

- A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
- An "Attained" and an "Attained with Distinction" in an HKDSE relevant Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects can be counted for admission purpose. Relevant ApL subjects include: Fundamental Health Care, Health Care Practice.
- Applicants may be required to attend an interview with an original work portfolio.
Entrance Requirements for Year 3:
Higher Diploma OR equivalent qualifications in a relevant area of study.
- Bridging modules are required (with fee charged) for sub-degree graduates according to the educational background of individuals.
- All applicants are screened and selected by an Admission and Interview Panel. All interviews are conducted in English.

- The tuition fee for academic year 2016/17 is $2,600 per credit point. Tuition fees are subject to annual reviews.
