The programme aims to enable students to acquire a solid understanding and foundation in both practical and theoretical knowledge in plumbing and building services engineering to meet the manpower needs in Hong Kong. At QF Level 5, the programme is strongly vocationally orientated, providing students with sound engineering and managerial knowledge and skills to pursue careers in plumbing and building services engineering, equipping students to become qualified technicians, with good background to pursue further professional studies, and career endeavors.

Career Prospects

The programme is strongly supported by the leading plumbing trade and professional associations and societies in Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors (HKFEMC), and Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society (BSOMES).


Graduates will work in the plumbing and building services industry, taking up duties in consulting work, contracting work, operation and maintenance, research and technical support. Their career prospects include advancing to managerial positions such as design/project (MEP) /facilities managers in consulting/contractor companies, overseeing employees and operations in new construction sites/existing facilities.

 

Engineering Training Subsidy Scheme (ETSS)
Students under this programme may apply for ETSS. Successful applicants will be refunded 60% of the tuition fees of eligible programmes, subject to a maximum of $45,000 per person.
