The Student Development Office of THEi provides advice and assistance to needy students on their applications for financial assistance schemes administered by the HKSAR Government Student Finance Office (SFO). Students planning to apply via SFO for the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) and/or Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) should note that:
i. To be eligible to apply for FASP/NLSPS in the 2020/21 academic year, you need to be a registered full-time student ("full-time" study refers to a curriculum of a minimum of 30 credit points per year);
ii. You must notify the SFO in writing immediately when there are changes in your study information including the tuition fees to be paid for the 2020/21 academic year (please refer to the course coding sheet available at the SFO's website).
Details are available at http://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/sfo/en/postsecondary/index.htm.
All new students will be invited and required to attend an online Orientation Session scheduled to be held in the week of 14 September 2020. You will be notified of the detailed arrangement of the Orientation Session by email and through your student email account after registration. Important information that you will need to refer to during your study at THEi, including the Institute’s student handbook and your programme document will be distributed to you.
Tuition Fees for Semester One and Other Fees
The acceptance fee of $5,000 you have paid will form part of the tuition fee for Semester One, 2020/21 academic year. Payment of the remaining tuition fees, caution money and Students’ Union fee should be made by 31 August 2020.
Students who have outstanding fees in respect to their previous study in VTC are required to clear the outstanding fees owed to VTC before they are re-admitted to a VTC programme. Even if the outstanding fees are revealed after they have been re-admitted and class commencement, these students are still liable to settle their outstanding debts. Otherwise, their study transcripts, award certificates, and related certification of all VTC programmes will be withheld.
