Major Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

To assist the Vice President (Academic) in providing effective management of the Academic Departments and School of General Education and Languages in the following aspects:<\/p>

(i)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor the implementation of the Institute\u2019s academic plan and operational plan;
(ii)\u00a0 \u00a0 Oversee academic programme management and development to meet industry needs and enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration;
(iii)\u00a0 \u00a0Implement quality assurance mechanism and enhance quality culture;
(iv)\u00a0 \u00a0Devise new academic policies \/ regulations \/ guidelines to meet the Institute\u2019s development needs;
(v)\u00a0 \u00a0 Foster and facilitate a productive learning environment and collegial work culture among the academic units;
(vi)\u00a0 \u00a0Manage the overall applied research, scholarly and consultancy operations; and
(vii)\u00a0 Maximise student intakes by enhancing marketing and business development.<\/p>

Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

The ideal candidate should have:<\/p>

(a)\u00a0 \u00a0A recognised doctoral degree, preferably in a field relevant to the Institute\u2019s portfolio;
(b)\u00a0 \u00a0Demonstrable outstanding professional standing with strong industry networks, a substantial record of scholarly, research and professional achievements;
(c)\u00a0 \u00a0A demonstrable track record of management and academic leadership in higher education, and relevant professional or industry experience and connection;
(d)\u00a0 Solid experience and accomplishment in developing, implementing and enhancing quality educational, research and employer-engagement activities, and consultancies;
(e)\u00a0 Rich experience in programme management, including programme development and accreditation, and implementation of teaching and learning strategies;
(f)\u00a0 \u00a0Strong leadership, management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; and
(g)\u00a0 High proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.<\/p>

Notes:<\/u>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

(1) The post is at the rank of Professor.

<\/em>(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.<\/em>
<\/em>(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(5) <\/em>The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.<\/em><\/p>
