Major Duties<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

The appointee is expected to contribute to the planning, development, implementation and review of the Master of Science (MSc) in Organisation of Sports Event (OSE) programme. The Programme aims to equip students with advanced management skills relevant to the sports industry, including strategic planning, digital marketing, and mega event management.<\/p>

The appointee will be required to provide strong academic leadership in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies, and curriculum development in at least one of the following modules:<\/p>

  • Applications of Sports Therapy in the Industry<\/li>
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics<\/li>
  • Capstone Applied Project<\/li>
  • Cyber Security in Business<\/li>
  • Digital Business Strategy & Transformation<\/li>
  • Digital Marketing<\/li>
  • Leadership & Strategy<\/li>
  • Leading & Planning of Mega Event<\/li>
  • Mega Event Operation & Management<\/li>
  • Organisational & Human Resources Management<\/li>
  • Scientific Strength & Conditioning in Sports Development<\/li>
  • Scientific Support in Elite Athletes Training<\/li>
  • Sports System & Event Operation in Chinese Mainland<\/li>
  • Strategic Innovation & Entrepreneurship<\/li><\/ul>

    The appointee will take part in teaching and supervising student work; delivering a quality programme; and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking, and collaboration with industry to promote the Institute and the programme.\u00a0 S\/He will also be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutions on collaborative arrangements to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme.\u00a0 Experience in new programme development and accreditation is highly preferred.<\/p>

    The appointee will provide face-to-face and potentially online instruction at the graduate or undergraduate level in sports and leisure management, sports science and related courses as well as maintaining a record of excellence in teaching, student advising and career mentoring.\u00a0 The appointee at Professor \/ Associate Professor rank will be required to oversee the MScOSE and related programmes and be heavily involved in the accreditation and re-accreditation exercises of the MScOSE programme.\u00a0<\/p>

    Requirements<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

    The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Sports and Leisure Management, Sports Science or related disciplines, with relevant teaching experience at tertiary level; demonstrate achievements (or good potential for achievement) in research and scholarly activities, and experience in professional practice in the relevant fields; and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua.\u00a0 S\/he must also fulfil one of the following criteria:
    (a) Mother tongue \/ language is Putonghua; or
    (b) Received a recognised bachelor\u2019s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
    (c) At least 3 years\u2019 working experience in the Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
    (d) Attained one of the following qualifications:
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0i. Grade B, Level 3 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) \u2013 Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission; or
    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 ii. A pass in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent.<\/p>

    Notes<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

    (1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts, and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    <\/em>(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    <\/em>(3) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and \/ or nearby teaching premises.<\/em><\/p>
