Major Duties<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

The appointee is expected to contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and periodic review of the Master of Science in Ecological and Cultural Management of Urban Forests (MScECMUF) programme. \u00a0The appointee will take part in teaching and supervising capstone applied projects and student work, delivering a high-quality programme, and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking, and collaboration with industry partners to promote the Institute and the programme. \u00a0S\/He will also be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutions on collaborative arrangements to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme.<\/p>

Requirements<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree, in Horticulture, Geography, Environmental Science, Botany, Ecology, Landscape Management, and Urban Planning or a related discipline, with solid teaching experience at the tertiary level. \u00a0The candidate should also have good professional standing with strong industry networks and achievements in professional practice and applied research activities. \u00a0The candidate should possess a track record of research publications.\u00a0 Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.<\/p>

S\/He should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua. \u00a0S\/He must also fulfil one of the following criteria:
(a) Mother tongue\/language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised Bachelor\u2019s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years\u2019 work experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Attained one of the following qualifications:
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 i. Grade B, Level 3 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) \u2013 Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission; or
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0ii. Level 3 or above in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEEA) or equivalent.<\/p>

Notes<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>

(1) The MOI of the MScECMUF programme is Putonghua.
<\/em>(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts, and on Saturdays and Sundays, as necessary.
<\/em>(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and\/or nearby teaching premises.
