Major Duties:
The appointee shall engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services.
Requirements:
For Part-time Instructor
The successful candidate should have a recognised Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Plant Science, Geography or related disciplines. He/She should also have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience at the level of Professional Diploma and/or relevant work experience in a related field.
For Part-time Lecturer
The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Plant Science, Geography or related disciplines. He/She should also have at least 4 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or relevant work experience in a related field.
He/She should have good interpersonal and communication skills and high level of proficiency in English and preferably Chinese, including Putonghua. Preference will be given to candidates with membership in professional institutions such as the International Society of Arboriculture. A proven record of linkage with industry or professional bodies will be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations and work irregular hours, including weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will mainly work at the Chai Wan Campus.
