TITLE :

Part-time Lecturer (Public Relations and International Events Management)

Department of Hospitality and Business Management

Major Duties:

The appointee shall engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and provide academic and administrative support services for the Public Relations and International Events Management programme, with English and/or Putonghua as the Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree or above in one or more of the following fields: International Events Management, Marketing Research, Customer Relationship Management, Public Relations, Communication, or related disciplines; with at least 4 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or relevant professional practice. Candidates with strong industry networks are highly desirable.

The candidate should be a good team player, with strong interpersonal and communicational skills, and a high level of proficiency in English and Putonghua.  He/She must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(a) Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised Bachelor’s degree or above of which the MOI was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ working experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Attained one of the following qualifications:
      i. Grade B, Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission; or
      ii. Level 3 or above in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent.

Notes:

(1) The MOI of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Relations and International Events Management programme is English and/or Putonghua.
(2) Shortlisted candidates may be required to provide evidence demonstrating their proficiency in formal written in English and Chinese, and to deliver a teaching demonstration in both English and Putonghua.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, including Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(5) The appointee will mainly work at the Chai Wan Campus.
