Employment Period: 1 year (with the possibility of renewal)
Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project and is expected to assist the PI in the development and coordination of research activities and daily operations related to the research project “A Study of Temperature and Relative Humidity Effects on Strength Development of Low-Carbon Concrete”.
He/she will be required to:
a) Carry out research activities, such as casting and testing concrete, for the research project;;
b) Arrange reimbursement of expenditures arising from the research project; and
c) Assist in writing reports, analysing results from research studies, and drafting manuscripts and presentation materials for publication.
Requirements:
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a relevant discipline, or a recognised Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with relevant work experience; or equivalent.
For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree, preferably a recognised Bachelor’s degree, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
He/she should have knowledge in structural design and finite element analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with fluent written and spoken English or Cantonese.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, and work irregular hours and weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will mainly work at the Tsing Yi Campus.
