Post Specification

TITLE :

Technician (Master of Science in Ecological and Cultural Management of Urban Forests)

Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering

Major Duties:

(a) To follow up on the renovation of the new laboratory for the programme;
(b) To assist in setting up and maintaining facilities and equipment for the new laboratory;
(c) To support the routine operation, management, and safety of the laboratories, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations; and
(d) To assist academic staff and provide technical support to students during practical classes, laboratory works, and projects.

Requirements:

(a) A recognised Diploma or a Higher Certificate, preferably a higher-level qualification, in Chemistry, Horticulture, Geography, Environmental Science, Landscape Management or a related field;
(b) At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions or related facilities;
(c) Preference will be given to candidates with relevant professional qualifications;
(d) Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
(e) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:

(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and/or nearby teaching premises.
