The post is for the Sports Biomechanics Laboratory supporting the programmes offered by the Department of Sport and Recreation.
Major Duties:
The appointee shall:
(a) assist in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of sports science and therapy equipment such as metabolic system, heart rate system, motion capture system, blood lactate, glucose, ketone system, electromyography system, ultrasonography system, force plate, Myoton Pro, SkillCourt, IMU sensors, etc.;
(b) assist in the day-to-day operation and management of the laboratory or centre;
(c) provide technical support to academic staff in teaching and research-related activities;
(d) assist academic staff in the preparation and demonstration of laboratory and practical classes, as well as projects;
(e) assist in the development and implementation of projects assigned;
(f) coordinate the procurement of consumables and equipment; and
(g) assist in inventory planning, control and storage.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised Diploma or a Higher Certificate, preferably a higher qualification, in Sports Science, Sports Therapy, Sports Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline;
(b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions or testing laboratories;
(c) Good knowledge of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of relevant equipment;
(d) Good negotiation, problem-solving, management and interpersonal skills; and
(e) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and/or nearby teaching premises.
