THEi fashion design students achieved outstanding performance in the recent renowned regional industry competitions.

 

THEi has 6 students swept 7 awards in recent signature industry competitions. Another two 2017 graduates, Mr. Jason Lee won the Best Footwear Design Award of Hong Kong Young Fashion Designer’ Contest (YDC). He will collaborate with I.T. Apparels Ltd to develop a capsule collection which will be sold at selected shops under I.T. group. At the meantime, congratulates to Miss Lau, Kat Chun won the Regional Champion of 26th Jeanwest Fashion Award (South China Region), one of the most representing fashion competitions in China.

17th Footwear Design Competition

Organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Footwear Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the footwear Design Competition Hong Kong is recognised as the cradle for nurturing footwear design talent, uncovering new driving forces for the sustained development of footwear design and products.  This year, the competition attracted more than 800 inspiring entries, among these only 70 entries were selected for the final round. Applicants included students and practitioners in the footwear industry.

YDC 2017 Best Footwear Design Award

Organized since 1977, the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC) aims to cultivate and promote a new generation of fashion design talents for the local garment and fashion industry. The contest has become the most prestigious event of its kind in the region for students and fashion designers. Its success is evident by the number of past contestants who have gone on to become leading designers for fashion enterprises or launch their own labels. 

 

Winner- Jason Lee Kui Kee 

The student is awarded with a cash prize and mentorship offered by I.T. Apparels Ltd to develop a capsule collection to be sold at selected shops under i.t. group.

 

26th Jeanswest Fashion Award (South China Region)

Jeanswest Fashion competition is one of the biggest fashion design competitions in China which incubates young talents from more than 160 institutes in different provinces. This year, the organizers received over 5600 applications, winners in each region will attend the final in Beijing to compete for the overall grand prize.

SDC International Design Competition (Hong Kong Region)

First launched in 2002, the SDC International Design Competition is an annual flagship competition of the Society of Dyers and Colourists which opens to students in 15 countries.  The competition attracts hundreds of entries worldwide, and previous winners have gone on to major success in the fashion and textile industry. This year, regional champions will attend the prestigious Grand Final in Sri Lanka to compete for the global championship.
