Led by project leader of THEi seed grant project (project number: 1516102), SRM and HC students who are interested in elderly population signed up being student research assistant of the project and introduce THEi and the research project to Lok Fu and Kowloon Tong elderly community by assisting project leader in executing Traditional Chinese Exercise Family Fun Day cum Traditional Chinese Exercise Research Recruitment on 1st July 2016.

 

Apart from recruitment briefing on the THEi seed grant research, community-dwelling elders are invited to participate in fitness tests conducted by students. Under the supervision of project leader and project researcher, students conducted elderly fitness tests and gave exercise recommendations to elderly participants.

 

The event attracted local healthy vegetarian food brand SoMakMak to sponsor low sugar ripped Thai mango with no preservatives and no sweetener as snack for the event.  A total of 25 elders and their family members participated in the event.
