Seminar on Nobel Prize Physics - The Detection of Gravitation Waves

Forums, Workshops & Seminars

On 15th March 2018, the Faculty of Science and Technology invited Dr. Stephen Ng, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics of the University of Hong Kong to give us a seminar on the Nobel Prize in physics in 2017 – the detection of the gravitational wave. The seminar started with an introduction on the basic ideas and properties of gravitational waves, a brief overview of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) experiment, as well as its significance to the world. It was an interesting and appealing talk to students.
