THEi - MIT Summer Camp 2018
International Experience
With the positive feedback received last year, THEi once again co-organised a two-week summer camp with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in this summer. Seven MIT students with the background in computer science, aerospace engineering, biological engineering, and brain and cognitive sciences visited THEi during 30 July to 10 August 2018 for arranging the summer camp for over 30 THEi students.
To attract students of different disciplines of study, the summer camp offered a variety of activities on three themes, namely “Python Programming with a Simple Business-oriented Project Implementation”, “Space and Astronomy” and “Psychological Well-being and Health Management”, with the aim to enhance THEi students’ practical knowledge and international perspectives through participation in seminars delivered by MIT students, company visit, workshops and cultural exchange activities.
Aiming to continue to enhance the quality of the programme, Dr Lawrence Chan, Executive Vice President of THEi, met Mr Sean Gilbert, Managing Director of the MIT-China Program, on 2 August to kick-start the planning of the arrangement for next year. As the host faculty for the summer camp this year, FST is looking forward to further collaboration with international universities in the future.
