Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) for Academic Year 2015/16
In order to produce talents to meet Hong Kong’s social and economic needs, especially for industries that urgently need skilled talents, the Chief Executive announced a series of initiatives in the 2014 Policy Address to offer more opportunities and wider choices for post-secondary students to pursue higher education.
One of these is the “Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors” introduced by the Education Bureau in consultation with other government bureaux. This will be made available to three cohorts of students starting from the 2015/16 academic year (i.e. students entering the first year of undergraduate studies in the 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 academic years). The scheme will then be reviewed for its effectiveness.
