Major Duties:
The appointee shall engage in the delivery of lectures, tutorials, experiments, practical workshops and supervising student work for the Department. The appointee shall also support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and provide academic and administrative support to sustain the daily operation of the programme and the HKAR-147 training organisation.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree, preferably a Doctoral degree, in Aircraft Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields, with at least 4 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in the relevant aviation fields.
He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of proficiency in English and preferably Chinese (including Putonghua). A proven record of linkage with industry or professional bodies will be an advantage.
Preference will be given to candidates with advanced knowledge or work experience in aviation reliability engineering, propeller design and maintenance, aircraft system design and maintenance, aircraft powerplant systems, aircraft structural maintenance, composite repair, aircraft maintenance practices, aircraft electrical theories, aerodynamics (fluid and gas dynamics), aircraft certification (HKAR-21) and/or HKAR-145 and HKAR-147 operations. Candidates with membership in professional institutions such as the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and/or experience in conducting HKAR-66 licence training and/or holding a HKAR-66 licence, and/or being an HKAR-147 approved practical or knowledge instructor will also have an advantage.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations and work irregular hours, including weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will mainly work at the Tsing Yi Campus.
