Faculty of Design students awarded scholarships from Fortune Pharmacal Co. Ltd.

The children of today are the future of tomorrow. With a common vision, the Faculty of Design has partnered with Fortune Pharmacal Co. Ltd. to organise an Eco-Bag Design Competition to assist in promoting future design talent.

15 finalists of Fashion Design and Product Design students who participated in the competition have been awarded a sponsorship of HK$1,000 each to develop an Eco-Bag prototype and showcased these in the “GO GREEN FOR FUTURE Eco-Bag Design Exhibition”. A scholarship of HK$11,000, HK$7,000 and HK$5,000 had also been given to the Champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.

Champion:
Fortune Recycle Bag
LO Ho Yan, Winnie , BA (Hons) in Fashion Design – Year 1

Theme:
Fortune Recycle Bag

Concept:
The packaging of Coltalin is the most well-known among the products of Fortune Pharmacal. So I adopt a new package for this. Once the recycle bag is folded up, it becomes a “Fortune Recycle Bag”, which shows the care of Fortune Pharmacal that would with us always.

1st Runner up:
Our Place Our Bg
LEE Kui Kee, Jason, BA (Hons) in Fashion Design – Year 1

Theme:
Our Place Our Bag

Concept:
The red, white and blue strippy nylon bag is our collective memory. It is regarded as one of the most representative of Hong Kong’s culture. As time goes by, its shape has to change. Like Fortune Pharmacal, it always goes one step further.

2nd Runner up:
TE’(て)
LUNG Ka Yi, Nico, BA (Hons) in Fashion Design – Year 2

Theme:
TE’(て)

Concept:
TE’(て) is a Japanese word meaning hands. Relationship is something we cannot handle easily. Use our hands to translate love messages. No matter what happens, remember I am with you for the FUTURE. Being GREEN is not only environmentally friendly but also simple and easy.
