The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is set to host THEi Programme Trial Day 2025: the Green Journey on 23 May and 24 May at its Chai Wan Campus. The event aims to promote low-carbon green living and urban sustainability. The public will have the opportunity to explore how “low carbon,” “artificial intelligence,” and “applied research” work together, inspiring participants to incorporate sustainable practices into their everyday lives and contribute to the development of future green cities.
During the event, a range of interdisciplinary experience classes focused on “applied science” will be available, providing students and parents with insight into the degree programmes at THEi from the perspective of higher education students. The classes combine practical application with theoretical knowledge to help them better plan their academic futures. Those who complete the classes will receive a certificate of completion issued by THEi.
Students, parents, current higher diploma students, and the general public are welcome to join.

Green Street
The venue will offer “CHILL‧Tea Drinks with Edible Spoon” and feature various low-carbon living games, enabling participants to enjoy healthy tea while gaining knowledge about low-carbon practices.

hydrogen bus showcase

THEi has partnered with CityBus to promote hydrogen energy for the first time. The event will feature the first double-decker hydrogen bus in Hong Kong, allowing participants to closely inspect its structure and learn about the principles of hydrogen energy generation through interactive games.
Pet-Friendly Zone

THEi will set up its first-ever "Pet-Friendly Zone," encouraging pet owners to bring their furry friends to the event! The area will feature fun photo props and showcase pet food made from food by-products, allowing owners and pets to relax during the event.

Interdisciplinary Experience Class
The experience classes cover the seven academic areas at THEi, including Product and Fashion Designs, Sports and International Events Management, Digital Construction and Building Services, Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management, Chinese Medicine and Food Science, Hotel Management and Culinary Arts and Technology and Digital Technology and Innovative Business. Participants will be able to explore the latest trends and techniques in various fields, fostering innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Students who complete the class will receive a completion certificate issued by THEi.

Flying into Smart City: Drone Application Class
Participants will operate drones to complete designated "flight" tasks, gaining insights into of the key roles that drones play in the low-altitude economy. This includes their contributions to urban planning, environmental monitoring, and public safety, while also exploring their potential applications in future smart cities.

Wind, Mountain, and Water: Architectural Design Class
This class will integrate digital technology with feng shui principles, introducing how to analyse and optimise spatial layouts through both methods. Through hands-on experience, participants will understand these two key elements to design harmonious spaces using model creation.

Tell a Story with Food: Introduction to Foodie
Participants will begin by learning to prepare and taste restaurant-quality dishes in a training restaurant on campus, gaining insights into the combinations and flavours of different ingredients. Afterward, they will explore how to create social content using food, understanding strategies for audience engagement and the influence of KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) on social media.

Sound Exploration Class
What kind of sounds would you choose to accompany a monochrome film to enhance its emotional expression and atmosphere? AI in Health Management: Developing Customised Diet Plans
