"Industry-School Collaboration: THEi x Bar Pacific: Student-run restaurant" has officially opened in Mong Kok

THEi has once again transformed the traditional education model by collaborating with the industry partner to cultivate industry elites for the future. The collaboration provides students with valuable opportunities for learning practical experience before joining the labour market. Jointly organized by the academic teams and the students, in this groundbreaking collaboration with Bar Pacific Group Holdings Ltd, THEi has facilitated the first-ever "Student-run restaurant" in Hong Kong.
The collaborations between the Institute and our industry partners have always been seamless, with a teaching model that aligns closely with the industry. This collaboration creates a win-win situation, and it is hoped that this small step taken by THEi will contribute to a significant advancement in applied science education.
To celebrate the grand opening of the restaurant, an opening ceremony was held on December 13th. Dozens of partners from various industries attended to show their support, witnessing the Institute starting a new chapter in the development of applied science education.

The collaboration is groundbreaking in the education sector. Mr. Jackie Chan, the founder of Bar Pacific Group Holdings Ltd, fully supports the practical concept of applied science in THEi, and hopes that students can gain a deep understanding of the operational models in the food and beverage industry by fully utilizing of the resources available in the stores during the day.

"The 'CAM' represents the programme that we study, 'Culinary Arts and Management'; while 'CAMeraaaa' as a whole is inspired by the inseparable relationship between food and 'capturing it with a camera' philosophy." Shared by the students participated in this collaboration. They mentioned that they have already achieved a lot before the restaurant is ready for business.
"The entire preparation process took several months, and the unexpected challenges have made us grow rapidly. Our professors have been assisting us and guiding us to gradually master the intricacies involved. While balancing our studies, we have also been learning about the real management aspects of the food and beverage industry, which has nurtured a deeper passion and longing for the industry, igniting greater self-driven learning motivation."
The restaurant operates on "Pop-up" concept. Western-style lunch sets are available from Wednesday to Sunday, between 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM. The selections include appetizers, main courses, specialty cocktails, and desserts, catering to the preferences of different diners. Additionally, an exclusive specialty cocktail designed by the student who won the 2023 Cocktail Mixing Competition at the school is also available, complementing the meticulously designed menu and showcasing the infinite possibilities of different ingredients.
The restaurant "CAMeraaaa" is a "Pop-up Store".

Bonnie Tsang, Year 3 student, the champion who won the "THEi Student Bartender competition 2023" with her signature cocktail "Out of Office". She mentioned that the teachers encourage them to continuously experiment and unleash their creativity, which has given her a more thorough understanding of the real environment of hotel operations and has increased her interest in hotel operations management. The signature cocktail "Out of Office" is exclusively served at "CAMeraaaa".
