Kikkoman International Culinary Competition in Taiwan

Two Year-1 students from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Culinary Arts and Management, CHAN Leong (left), and LIU Chun Ki participated as a team in the Kikkoman International Culinary Competition at National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism on 30 March 2019.

The team was required to prepare a three-course menu with appetizer/soup/entrée of 3 servings each. The mystery food ingredient was given to the participants to tap their creativity for cooking the entrée.

Among the twelve teams, THEi CAM team was the only team from overseas who won an award in the Kikkoman International Culinary Competition.

A team of two Year-1 Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Culinary Arts and Management students, CHAN Leong and LIU Chun Ki won the “Best Dish Award" (大專組佳作) in the Kikkoman International Culinary Competition on 30 March 2019 which was held in the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism.  They received a monetary reward of NTD6,000 together and an award certificate individually. The award ceremony was held right after the competition and the judges including the Dean of School of Culinary Arts, Professor Yang Chao-Chin of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, the Senior Management of President Kikkoman Inc and the Executive chef from the hotel in Taiwan.
