Dr. Chi-Ying Vanessa Li has more than 20 years of experience in research and development of nanomaterials for environmental application, electrochemical technologies, and catalysis. She is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers Australia (FIEAust); Chartered Professional Engineer, National Engineer Registered (CPEng NER); APEC and IPEA Registered Engineer (IntPE(Aus)). She is also a Fellow of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IoM3) (FIMMM), as well as Chartered Engineering (CEng) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) in the U.K. Dr. Li has been the project coordinator, principal investigator, and co-investigator in research projects funded by ITC, RGC, NSFC and The University of Hong Kong, on topics of advanced battery systems including Li and Na ion batteries; metal-air and metal-sulfur batteries, fuel cells, as well as novel catalysts for alcohol, CO and soot oxidation. She is an expert in designing battery materials for lithium-ion and beyond Li-ion batteries, functionalization of metal organic frameworks for electrochemical applications and hydrogen storage, and theoretical modeling. Furthermore, she is experienced in cross-disciplinary research involving electrochemistry, power electronics and sport science. Her contributions in materials research includes various publications in top-tier SCI international journals such as ACS Energy Lett., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nano Energy, Nano Lett., Chem. Mater., Carbon, Chem Comm., Electrochim. Acta., Appl. Energy Mater, with patented inventions on innovative technologies for environmental applications.
