Major Duties:
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in the implementation of the research project and related activities in the fields of food science and safety and nutrition studies. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute creative ideas, support scientific discovery, and undertake high-quality analytical work using laboratory instrumentation and techniques, including microbiological testing, cell culture, and sensory evaluation, etc. He/She will be required to coordinate and conduct data collection and analysis, prepare research reports and the disseminate research findings at exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and other academic or industry-related events.
Requirements:
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should possess a recognised Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biotechnology, Nutrition and Health Studies, or a related discipline; or a recognised degree in a related discipline with relevant work experience.
For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should possess a recognised sub-degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biotechnology, Nutrition and Health Studies, or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants for both positions should have work experience in conducting cell culture, microbiological studies, objective and subjective sensory evaluation, or participating in relevant research projects. Applicants should also have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, as well as a strong communication skills for liaison with industry collaborators and external partners.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
