The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) has received a multi-million donation from Jiangmen Syncforward Consulting Co., Ltd. (Syncforward), an innovative service provider bridging industrial and educational ecosystems in Greater Bay Area (GBA), to support THEi’s development of a master’s degree programme in digital gaming, nurturing interdisciplinary talents with an international vision. This marks a significant step for both the Institute and the enterprise in promoting the integration of cutting-edge technology education and industry convergence.
Prof Alan LAU Kin-tak, President of THEi, expressed deep gratitude for Syncforward’s generous donation, stating that this move demonstrates the enterprise’s recognition of the Institute’s efforts in advancing applied science education. It also highlights the Institute’s commitment to keeping pace with industry trends, collaborating with the GBA enterprises, and cultivating practical talents.
Mr LUO, Board of Syncforward said that the high employment rate of THEi graduates is a sufficient proof of its work-integrated learning model, which accurately responds to industry needs. He pointed out that the Institute has been collaborating with more than 300 companies, building a strong network for cooperation between the Institute and enterprises, and equipping itself with a range of cutting-edge teaching facilities to nurture outstanding talents required by the industry. He hopes to work with THEi to accelerate the transformation of research results into industrial applications, cultivating talents for the GBA and beyond.
As THEi embarks on this new phase of collaboration, THEi will persist in driving the advancement of applied science education. This will be achieved by enhancing educational partnerships between Guangdong and Hong Kong, aligning curriculum with industry requirements, and leveraging Hong Kong’s role as a global gateway to nurture talent for innovation and development.
