TITLE :

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Master of Business Administration in Digital Transformation)

Major Duties:

The appointee is expected to contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and review of the Master of Business Administration in Digital Transformation (MBADT) programme.  The Programme aims to develop students’ understanding and capability to manage transformation and innovation in the current business environment.  The Programme offers two specialised streams, one in “Digital Business and Leadership” and the other in “Digital Technology and Innovation”.

The appointee will need to provide strong academic leadership in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies and curriculum development for at least one of the following modules:

  • Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Cyber Law
  • Cyber Security in Business
  • Digital Business Process and Operations
  • Digital Business Strategy and Transformation
  • Digital Marketing
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Business Sustainability
  • Ethics in a Digital World
  • Global Business Environment
  • Leadership and Strategy
  • Management of Digital Innovation
  • Managerial Accounting and Finance*
  • Managerial Economics*
  • Organisational and Human Resources Management
  • Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship*

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate teaching expertise in Managerial Accounting and Finance, Managerial Economics, and Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The appointee will take part in teaching and supervising student work; delivering high-quality programmes; and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking, collaboration with industry and promoting the Institute and the programme.  He/She will also be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutions on collaborative arrangements to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme.

The appointee will provide face-to-face and potentially online instruction at the graduate or undergraduate level in both business administration and related courses, as well as maintain a record of excellence in teaching, student advising, and career mentoring.  The appointee at the Professor / Associate Professor rank will be required to oversee the MBADT and related programmes and be heavily involved in the related accreditation and re-accreditation exercises of the MBADT programme.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Digital Business, Information Technology, Digital Technology and Innovation, or a related discipline, with relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level; demonstrate achievement (or good potential for achievement) in research and scholarly activities, and experience in professional practice in the relevant fields; and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. He/She must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(a) Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised Bachelor’s degree or above for which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua-speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Achieved at least Grade B, Level 2 in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission.

Notes:

(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, including outside Hong Kong, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and/or nearby teaching premises.
