TITLE :

Systems Manager (Ref.: O/THEi-ITO/SM/10/25)

Information Technology Office

Major Duties:

(a) To support the Head of Information Technology Office in overseeing revamp and development of an Enterprise Resources Management System for Student Administration and Records, and other systems to address the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students during the transition to a university;
(b) To manage the projects, including but not limited to feasibility study, tender specification, budgeting, tendering, solution development and testing, vendor and contract management, and launch of new/revamped systems;
(c) To collaborate with different stakeholders to collect user requirements, perform user journey analysis, consolidate user cases, identify pain-points, determine functionalities and areas of improvement in user journey;
(d) To conduct market research and maintain good knowledge of the latest trends in the education sector, digital solutions and materials and identify opportunities to apply latest technologies, products and features in the projects;
(e) To review and refine the cybersecurity policies and incident response plans; and
(f) To ensure compliance with IT security standards and regulations through regular audits and assessments.

Requirements:

(a) A recognised degree in in Information Technology or equivalent professional qualifications;
(b) At least 5 years’ relevant work experience at supervisory level in the IT field;
(c) Applicants with relevant experience in the information technology field with educational institutions or comparable organisations will be an advantage;
(d) Applicants with proven track record in network design and implementation, enterprise infrastructure, data network, software systems, and/or applications development for higher education institutions will also be an advantage;
(e) Proven track record in managing large-scale IT projects;
(f) Experience in conducting or supporting cybersecurity audits and implementing security controls for applications development;
(g) Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively;
(h) Familiarity with IT network, cloud platforms and Linux/Windows server administration;
(i) Good communication, teamwork, organisational and administrative skills;
(j) Must be able to work independently and be pro active; and
(k) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:

(1) The post is at the rank of “Senior Officer”.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
