The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) will hold its Information Day 2025 on 14 and 15 November 2025. The event will introduce the “Simulated City” concept, featuring a city landscape decoration over 4 meters high at its Chai Wan Campus. Participants will engage in immersive activities through the “Real-Scene Game,” exploring various interdisciplinary gaming tasks to discover the features of THEi’s “applied science-oriented” undergraduate degree programmes. The event welcomes all members of the public, including DSE candidates, senior secondary students, higher-diploma students, and sub-degree graduates who are interested in applying for admission through JUPAS or non-JUPAS routes. Participants are invited to join programme talks and campus tours to prepare for their future education and careers.
Experience the Uniqueness of Applied Science-Oriented Programmes through Six Simulated Work Scenarios
THEi’s six Departments and the School of General Education and Languages are joining forces to create a “Real-Scene Game”! Participants will immerse themselves in six simulated work and life environments, exploring how THEi’s interdisciplinary programmes blend theory with practical applications, helping them understand industry changes and solutions to social issues. For example, participants will navigate interactive games across various industries from a first-person perspective. This includes experiencing the daily training routines of athletes through AI technology. Additionally, they will take on a detective role, diving into the digital realm to uncover cryptographic secrets. Participants will also have the opportunities to explore simulations of autonomous driving technology in smart cars, gaining insights into the latest advancements in green engineering.
The institute hopes this event will help students build a strong career foundation aligned with their interests, providing AI literacy and practical skills to meet workplace demands before graduation.
During the event, THEi will host nearly 50 information sessions, covering “applied science-oriented” undergraduate degree programmes, admission talks, education planning guidance, and campus tours. It will also introduce new programmes for the 26/27 academic year, offering students and parents a comprehensive understanding of its educational approaches and resources.
Two Teaching Centres Debut, Showcasing Strong Industry-Academia Strength
As THEi continues its progress toward becoming a University of Applied Sciences, it has opened several teaching facilities this academic year to enhance industry-academia research and development. These facilities include the newly established “Wu Jieh Yee Arboriculture Education and Research Centre,” and the “Hydrogen Energy Education and Talent Development Centre” (funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund). During the first public opening, visitors will explore the Institute’s support for research and educational programmes, along with the latest advancements in arboriculture and hydrogen energy.
