TITLE :

Instructor (English Language)

School of General Education and Languages

Major Duties:

The appointee shall report to the Head of the School of General Education and Languages (SGEL), work as part of a team and engage in the following duties:

(a) To teach English language courses and support students in achieving language proficiency and academic goals;
(b) To develop learning and teaching materials using AI tools and other new technologies;
(c) To organise and lead interactive language activities, including workshops, seminars, and study groups, to enhance students’ language proficiency;
(d) To provide academic advising and language consultations to improve students’ communication skills;
(e) To Assess student performance and provide guidance on constructive learning strategies; and
(f) To undertake administrative support services for the Centre for Learning Enhancement (CLE) and SGEL.

Requirements:

(a) A recognised Master’s degree in English Language Education, Linguistics, TESOL or related disciplines;
(b) Proven experience in teaching and designing English language courses and materials;
(c) Ability to integrate technology and AI into language teaching;
(d) Experience in organising language activities/workshops/seminars to foster an interactive learning environment;
(e) Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic academic team;
(f) Native or native-like English language proficiency; and
(g) Good communication skills in Putonghua and Cantonese are preferred.

(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, including outside Hong Kong, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(5) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan and Tsing Yi Campuses.
