The Student Affairs Office, in collaboration with academic departments and academic support units, organizes the New Student Orientation Day, which is packed with activities to help you succeed. You can explore programme details, learning resources, and student services while engaging with teachers, fellow students and supporting teams at THEi.

- Department of Design and Architecture (DDA),
- Department of Digital Innovation and Technology (DDIT),
- Department of Food and Health Sciences (DFHS),
- Department of Hospitality and Business Management (DHBM),
- Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR), and
- Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management (HALM) in the Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering (DCEE)
Students of the following department should join the New Student Orientation Day on Tsing Yi Campus (21 August 2026):

Department-based Programme Briefing Session
Get an in-depth look at your chosen field of study with our department-based Programme Briefing Session. Meet your Department Heads, Programme Leaders, Lecturers and fellow students; learn about course offerings and requirements; and know more about Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) that will enrich your academic experience.
Arrangements during Adverse Weather Conditions
When Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or “Extreme Conditions”, or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is:
- In force or issued at 6:15 a.m. or before 11:00 a.m., the Student Engagement Activities will be cancelled;
- In force or issued at 11:00 a.m. or before 4:00 p.m., the Welcoming Session, Student Services Information Sessions, and Department-based Programme Briefing Sessions will be postponed to 24 August 2026 at the same timeslot online.
