Nurtured by the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), original creations by graduates of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design programme have officially debuted at MHMH x Noveltylane at the Shoppes at The Parisian Macao. To mark this milestone, THEi held a grand opening ceremony today (11 July) at The Parisian Macao. The event brought together fashion and education professionals from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, highlighting the outstanding creativity and professional standards of youth designers across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The event was officiated by Professor Paul TSANG Wei-kei, Vice President (Academic) of THEi. During the ceremony, several graduates showcased their graduation collections, demonstrating not only exceptional craftsmanship but also the successful results of THEi’s applied science-oriented education approach.

Building Talent Bridges to Inspire Macao’s Future Design Forces

With the fashion industry across the GBA becoming increasingly interconnected, there is a growing demand among Macao’s youth for internationally oriented, professionally grounded design education. In an interview, Professor TSANG emphasised that this collaboration with MHMH x Noveltylane is more than just a display platform – it represents the launch of a long-term talent cultivation initiative.

“Seeing our students’ work displayed in a retail store at one of Macao’s landmark hotels proves that our practical-oriented education has international competitiveness,” said Professor TSANG. “THEi has always been committed to providing students with authentic industry exposure. We welcome youth from Macao to pursue studies in fashion design and related programmes in Hong Kong. With comprehensive facilities and a strong industry network, Hong Kong offers a growth pathway that broadens students’ horizons. Through exchanges with the Macao academic community, we are confident in nurturing design leaders who can ‘break boundaries and redefine the future.’”

Empowering the GBA’s Boundless Potential through the Power of Design

THEi has deeply cultivated applied science education and has gained widespread recognition from the industry for  graduates’ workplace readiness. Through the event, the Institute aims to encourage Macao students to step beyond their comfort zones and leverage Hong Kong as an international fashion hub – injecting new vitality into Macao’s cultural and creative industries.

The exhibition will run until 18 July. Public and industry professionals are cordially invited to visit and show their support for the young design talents from both Hong Kong and Macao.
