Ir Prof TANG Sher-kin, Kelvin has built a distinguished career in the Electrical & Mechanical and Environmental Industry over the past 30 years. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Greenwise Eco-Solutions Limited and Project Director at THF Engineering Company Limited. Additionally, he is an Independent Non-Executive Director for Alco Holdings Ltd and Kwong Luen Engineering Holdings Ltd.
With a strong technical background in energy efficiency, he actively promotes green and sustainable building technologies. He is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), as well as a Professional Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals Limited (HKIQEP). His qualifications include BEAM Pro, Registered Energy Assessor (REA), and Qualified Person (QP) in Water Safety Plans and the investigation of excess metal content in drinking water in Hong Kong. He is also a Retro-commissioning Professional (RCx Pro), Engineering EIA Professional (Eng EIA Pro), and a Registered Professional Engineer (RPE) in Building Services, Control Automation, Environmental, Energy, and Mechanical Disciplines.
He has dedicated many years to serving the HKIE. He was the past Chairman of the HKIE Environmental Division (2017-18) and the Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings (AIIB) (2014-16). Currently, he is a Council Member of HKIE, a member of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Hong Kong, and Deputy Chairman of the HKIE Continuing Professional Development Committee (CPDC). He also serves on the Planning Committee and the Environmental Division, as well as the Discipline Advisory Panel for Mechanical and Environmental Engineering.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, he is actively involved in public service. He is a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance (Cap. 123), the Appeal Board Panel for Amusement Rides Safety (Cap. 449), and the Innovation and Technology Fund Research Projects Assessment Panel. Furthermore, he is an appeal board member for the District Cooling Services Ordinance (Cap. 624) and the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance (Cap. 598), as well as serving on the appeal board and disciplinary board panel of the Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance (BEEO Cap. 610).
