Major Duties:
To assist the Vice President (Academic) in providing effective management of the Academic Departments and School of General Education and Languages in the following aspects:
(i) Monitor the implementation of the Institute’s academic plan and operational plan;
(ii) Oversee academic programme management and development to meet industry needs and enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration;
(iii) Implement quality assurance mechanism and enhance quality culture;
(iv) Devise new academic policies / regulations / guidelines to meet the Institute’s development needs;
(v) Foster and facilitate a productive learning environment and collegial work culture among the academic units;
(vi) Manage the overall applied research, scholarly and consultancy operations; and
(vii) Maximise student intakes by enhancing marketing and business development.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have:
(a) A recognised doctoral degree, preferably in a field relevant to the Institute’s portfolio;
(b) Demonstrable outstanding professional standing with strong industry networks, a substantial record of scholarly, research and professional achievements;
(c) A demonstrable track record of management and academic leadership in higher education, and relevant professional or industry experience and connection;
(d) Solid experience and accomplishment in developing, implementing and enhancing quality educational, research and employer-engagement activities, and consultancies;
(e) Rich experience in programme management, including programme development and accreditation, and implementation of teaching and learning strategies;
(f) Strong leadership, management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; and
(g) High proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

(1) The post is at the rank of Professor.

(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(5) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
