Major Duties:
The appointee(s) shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, develop programme curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment materials, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services of the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sports Therapy programme.
The appointee(s) will need to fulfill teaching duties, including but not limited to the preparation of teaching materials, development and marking of assessment items, and the delivery of lectures and tutorials for at least one of the following modules:
- Functional Anatomy & Exercise Physiology
- Management of Sports Injury
- Manual Therapy
- Pitch-side Emergency & Trauma Management
- Principles & Practice of Sports Therapy
- Professional Practice & Clinical Leadership in Sports Therapy
- Recognition and Evaluation of Sports Injuries
- Rehabilitation of Special Populations
- Sport Massage
- Strength and Conditioning
Requirements:
The successful candidate(s) should have a recognised Master’s degree, preferably a Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Physiotherapy, Sports Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Strength and Conditioning or related disciplines, preferably with at least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in the related fields; and have high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua.
S/He should be a registered physiotherapist, sports therapist, or with potential for registration with the Physiotherapists Board of Hong Kong, or sports therapist registered with the Society of Sports Therapists in the UK. Candidate(s) who possess dual professional qualifications (i.e. Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy OR Sports Therapy and Strength & Conditioning) will have an advantage. Experience in arranging student internships and supervising honours projects or having extensive local and international industry connections would also be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee(s) will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
