THEi Hosts Programme Trial Day 2025, Assisting Students in Planning Further Education and Career Paths

(Hong Kong, 27 May 2025) – THEi Programme Trial Day 2025: the Green Journey took place on 23 May and 24 May at its Chai Wan Campus. The event focused on promoting low-carbon green living and urban sustainability, attracting students and parents interested in THEi’s degree programmes to participate and plan for their educational paths.

Smart Living Seminar: Unleashing Sustainability Concepts and Industry Development

The two-day event provided participants with opportunities to explore the integration of “low carbon,” “artificial intelligence (AI),” and “applied research,” empowering them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and contribute to the development of future green cities.

In addition to interactive games, two smart living seminars were arranged. The first seminar was presented by Andrew TANG, Partner and Senior Vice President of Qiuguo Hotel Group. With his extensive experience in hotel operations, he helped students understand how AI technology integrates into customer experiences and the latest developments in the industry. Meanwhile, HO Man-kit, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport and Recreation at THEi, shared research findings and case studies to explore the importance of running posture on marathon performance, highlighting how technology complements sports.

Participants engaged in interdisciplinary experience classes that integrate practical applications with theoretical knowledge from the perspective of higher education students, encouraging them to apply scientific concepts in their daily lives. A certificate of completion would be issued to those who completed the course.

Limited Offerings to Promote Green Initiatives

The event also showcased Hong Kong’s first double-decker hydrogen bus from Citybus, along with a VR interactive experience featuring “Tai Pak Seafood Restaurant” from Lenovo. Citybus engineers shared the hydrogen bus’s operational principles with participants, enabling them to grasp how this cutting-edge technology contributes to sustainable transportation in Hong Kong. Through interactive games, participants gained a deeper understanding of hydrogen energy technology, its applications, and advantages, enhancing their awareness and interest in sustainable transportation for the future. Additionally, THEi’s first-ever “Pet-Friendly Zone” was set up with pet owners to bring their furry friends to campus over the weekend.
