(Hong Kong, 28 April 2025) – The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is set to host THEi Programme Trial Day 2025: the Green Journey on 23 May and 24 May at its Chai Wan Campus. The event is open to the public, including senior secondary and higher diploma students along with their parents, and aims to promote low-carbon green living and urban sustainability. Participants will learn about the THEI’s degree programme information and the integration of “low carbon,” “artificial intelligence (AI),” and “applied research,” empowering them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and contribute to the development of future green cities.
Participants will engage in interdisciplinary experience classes focused on “applied sciences.” These classes provide valuable insights into THEi’s degree programmes, which integrate practical applications with theoretical knowledge from the perspective of higher education students, and encourages participants to apply scientific concepts in their daily lives. By promoting green living, the event aims to inspire students to achieve diversified development. The courses include innovative drone applications, feng shui integrated architectural design, and an introductory foodie experience. Students who complete the classes will receive a certificate of completion issued by THEi.
The event will also showcase Hong Kong’s first double-decker hydrogen bus from Citybus, along with a VR interactive experience featuring “Tai Pak Seafood Restaurant” from Lenovo. Participants can engage in low-carbon living games, enjoy health tea drinks, and attend seminars on smart living, encouraging them to learn about low-carbon practices and implement sustainable actions in their daily lives. Additionally, THEi will also introduce its first-ever “Pet-Friendly Zone,” featuring pet food made from food by-products to encourage pet owners to bring their furry friends to campus over the weekend.
Covering seven academic areas, the event aims to stimulate students’ interest in applied sciences and enhance their understanding of the latest trends and developments in multiple fields. As an Associate Member of Alliance of Universities of Applied Sciences, the Institute hopes this event will promote the importance of applied sciences and vocational education to the community, motivating young individuals to pursue careers in dynamic industries and fostering applied talents for long-term contributions to sustainable development.
