Prof TAM is currently the Chief Consultant in Ling Nam Medicine Factory (HK) Limited. Prof TAM has been taking a wide range of managerial positions in the Pharmaceutical and Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) fields for almost 25 years, he has successfully developed his expertise and gained renowned reputation particularly in modernisation of TCM industries and related business. Additionally, he has rich experience in Quality Management System Auditing, such as GMP, ISO, HALA and product registration in the Greater China region, ASEAN countries, USA, Canada and Australia, etc.
Other than the extensive industry experience, Prof TAM had worked in various Universities including School of Pharmacy of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Technology Transfer Centre of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, and School of Chinese Medicines of The Baptist University of Hong Kong, he therefore possesses strong networks amid industry and academia. Apart from the Adjunct Professorship from THEi, he also carries the title of Adjunct Associate Professor of CUHK.
Prof TAM received his postgraduate degree of Chemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained the Doctoral degree from Lincoln University. He is the Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Certified Practicing Chemist (CPChem) of Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and also the Corporate Member of Royal Australian Chemical Institute (MRACI) and Association of Official Analytical Chemists (MAOAC).
With his substantial work experience and professional qualifications, Prof TAM was also invited to provide expert opinion in policies, regulations and guidelines formulation. He is now the Member of Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute (Proprietary Chinese Medicines), List of the Chinese Medicines Committee, Department of Health, HKSAR; Member of Advisory Committee of Chinese Medicine Development Fund, Health Bureau, HKSAR; Chairman of Advisory Committee of Department of Food and Health Science, THEi; Pharmaceutical Technology Consultant of Hong Kong Chinese Patent Medicines Manufacturing Association Limited; Pharmaceutical Consultant of Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Industry Association, and Ex-CEO and Director of Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association Limited. Prof TAM also holds other position in Education Bureau, HKSAR namely, Member of Committee on Home-School Co-operation and Member of Assessment Panel of Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (Budding Teachers).
