PROGRAMME FEATURES
The Master of Science in Digital Tourism and Hospitality Management programme at THEi is a highly promising programme, designed to address the market and industry demand for relevant professionals in response to the rapid digital transformation of the global tourism and hospitality industry. As a leading tourism hub, and the gateway to the Greater Bay Area (GBA), Hong Kong requires professionals adept at integrating advanced technologies with traditional service excellence to enhance visitors’ overall service experiences in the city. This in turn helps elevate Hong Kong’s profile and attractiveness as an international tourism destination. The Programme also meets the need for collaboration with the digital-driven tourism ecosystem in Chinese Mainland, ensuring that graduates can effectively communicate with stakeholders in the region.
This Master’s Degree Programme not only focuses on relevant professional knowledge and skills, but also places great emphasis on practical application ability and career support of students. Its distinctive feature lies in the inclusion of industry case analyses in the curriculum, integrating theory with practice to cultivate students’ practical abilities and employability. The Programme includes a Capstone Applied Project, through which students analyse and study real-world examples from the tourism and hospitality industry, enabling them to implement what they have learned in the classroom and enhance their problem-solving skills in the workplace.
Programme Aims
This Programme aims to cultivate a new generation of professionals capable of enhancing the operational effectiveness and strategic success of digital tourism and hospitality initiatives in Hong Kong and beyond. By integrating these elements into the curriculum, graduates will be well prepared to navigate the complexities and demands of the rapidly evolving tourism and hospitality landscape. Specifically, the Programme Objectives are to develop the following competences in students:
- Enhance students’ understanding of how emerging digital technologies are reshaping tourism and hospitality operations;
- Strengthen students’ autonomy and leadership capabilities for managerial roles in tourism and hospitality organisations;
- Reinforce students’ competitive edge in the digital tourism and hospitality landscape;
- Equip students with strategic and technical expertise to design, implement, and evaluate sustainable digital solutions; and
- Inspire creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills, offering practical strategies for organisations to lead and thrive in the digital era of tourism and hospitality.

Graduates from this Master’s Degree Programme can pursue careers in tourism and hospitality related fields, developing their careers in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and beyond. PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution; or
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution, with at least one year of working experience in related industry; or
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution, with at least three years of supervisory working experience in non-related industry.

4. Language Requirement (Putonghua)
(i) Mother tongue/ language is Putonghua; or
(ii) Received a bachelor’s degree or above of which the MOI was Putonghua; or
(iii) Have at least three years working experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(iv) Have achieved at least Grade B, Level 3 in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi awarded by the State Language Commission (SLC); or
(v) Demonstrate the Putonghua speaking competence through assessments in an interview.
Applicants are required to submit a personal statement (in Chinese) regarding their reasons of applying for the Programme, expectation and a future plan of their study, together with a set of Curriculum Vitae (CV) and reference letter(s) from their current and/or previous employers to verify the required amount and nature of working experience. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend an interview to assess their suitability.
TUITION FEE
- The tuition fees are charged according to the number of Institute Credit Points taken during a semester.
- The tuition fee for academic year 2026/27 is $9,000 per Institute Credit Point. Tuition fees are subject to an annual review.
