Major Duties:
The appointee shall engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning; participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and provide both academic and administrative support services for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Digital Manufacturing programme. The appointee should be familiar with at least one of the following areas:
• 3D printing
• Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
• Computer Numerical Control (CNC)
• Generative AI and AI Agents
• Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Robotics
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree or above in at least one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a relevant discipline; with at least 4 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or relevant professional practice. Candidates with strong industry networks are highly desirable.
The candidate should be a good team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a high level of proficiency in English and Putonghua. He/She must also fulfil one of the following criteria:
(a) Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised Bachelor’s degree or above for which the Medium of Instruction was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Attained one of the following qualifications:
i. Grade B, Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission; or
ii. Level 3 or above in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent.
Notes:
(1) Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a teaching demonstration in both English and Putonghua at the interview.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations and work irregular hours, including Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will mainly work at the Tsing Yi Campus.
