Faculty of Design Advertising Students' Double Happiness

Congratulations to Aris Lee, our Year-2 student in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Advertising programme, who won the champion of e+startup and a most welcomed AngelHack award in Hong Kong. Aris is invited to represent THEi in the USA for networking and pitching her ideas to different corporations and Angel funding companies, including Apple Inc., Highway 1, as well as the Hong Kong Economic and Trade office in San Francisco. She is the only student in the group representing Hong Kong’s higher education sector.
e+startup, initiated by Cyberport Startup Alumni Association, are a boot camp and internship programme that promotes a start-up culture among higher education students majoring in IT, business and design.
AngelHack Hong Kong Fall 2013 is the largest Mobile App Hackathon ever. Over 30 cities and 6,000 developers will join to build a stronger developer ecosystem around the world.
Two other Year-2 Advertising students (Markus Yui, former VTC Ambassador and JoJo Tong) won the pitch of Ocean Park's character design and merchandising project. Another 5 (Amy Chiu, Karmen Lam, Berry Leung, Eddie Li and Saki Wan) won the pitch of an in-store interactive promotion game. Each will receive a prize of HK$5,000 from Ocean Park.
THEi strives to turn students into graduates with knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that are valued by employers and society. We strongly encourage our students to enter open competitions to gain experience of the real world.
