Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and learning activities, develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials. He/she shall also support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, supervise students’ projects, and undertake academic and administrative support services of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management programme.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a Doctoral degree, in Horticulture, Geography, Landscape Management, Plant Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture or a related discipline, with good professional standing. Professional recognition, (e.g. Certified Arborist), relevant qualifications, training, and/or working experience specializing in environmental chemistry, soil science, arboriculture plant physiology, plant pathology, plant nutrient, or related fields would be an advantage. The Candidate with strong connections with the horticulture or arboriculture industry and the ability and experience in arranging student internships and supervising honours projects would also be an advantage. He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua.
Notes:.
(1) The post is at the rank of Teaching Fellow I/II.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts, and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and/or nearby teaching premises.
