Major Duties:
(a) To contribute to the setting up and management of facilities and support services for the Department;
(b) To demonstrate and introduce programme assets such as student work, equipment, labs, workshops and studios to external visitors;
(c) To arrange and provide technical support for installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of equipment and apparatus;
(d) To assist in demonstrations or practical classes and projects;
(e) To coordinate the procurement of consumables, equipment and systems related to programme and departmental operations;
(f) To maintain inventory records and prepare store and equipment estimates;
(g) To contribute to THEi’s continuous improvement measures related to above job areas;
(h) To oversee, maintain, enforce and champion the overall safety regulations in the designated areas of the Department, and ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the operating areas, while contributing to THEi’s health and safety principles and practices, raising awareness among colleagues and students; and
(i) To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department, Programme Leader, or their delegates.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised Diploma or a Higher Certificate in a relevant discipline, preferably in Product Design;
(b) At least two years’ relevant working experience;
(c) Proficiency in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC machines, laser cutting machine, papercut machine, 3D printers, and 3D scanning equipment;
(d) Hands-on experience in the application of CAD/CAM/CAID software would be an advantage;
(e) Knowledge and practical application in artificial intelligence would be an advantage;
(f) Ability to work independently and be a good team player; and
(g) Good interpersonal and communication skills in English and Chinese.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, including outside Hong Kong, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend and pass a skills test.
(4) The appointee will mainly work at the Chai Wan Campus.
