Major Duties:
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting research and experimental activities in the areas of sustainable dining and culinary education research. The successful candidate will contribute to scientific discoveries and undertake high-quality analytical work.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) arrange reimbursement for expenditures incurred under the research project;
(b) assist in the preparation of research reports, analyse research data and findings, and prepare manuscripts, presentations, and other scholarly materials for publication and dissemination;
(c) coordinate and conduct data collection and analysis, and prepare research reports and related documentation; and
(d) disseminate research findings at exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and other academic and industry-related events.
Requirements:
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a recognised Master’s degree in Culinary Arts and Management, Hotel Management, Food Science or a related discipline; or a recognised degree in a related discipline with relevant work experience.
For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree in Culinary Arts and Management, Hotel Management, Food Science or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications.
He/She should also:
(a) have experience in using data analysis software, including but not limited to AMOS, SPSS, SmartPLS and NVivo, etc.;
(b) have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua; proficiency in Putonghua would be an advantage; and
(c) be a fast learner with the ability to work independently, demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, and possess excellent attention to detail.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, including outside Hong Kong, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(3) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
