Applicants can apply for admission to the full-time bachelor’s degree programmes under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP) through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS).  For details, please refer to SSSDP Website.

Direct Admission of Non-JUPAS Local Applicants

Deadline for application: 5 September 2025, 5:00 p.m.

The intake places of programmes under the SSSDP are mainly allocated through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS).  The SSSDP participating institution will also admit Non-JUPAS Local Applicants Note via direct admission of no more than 20% of the subsidised places of each selected programme.

  1. Applicants applied for 2025 JUPAS are NOT eligible to apply for the bachelor’s degree programme (Year 1 Entry) under the SSSDP through Direct Admission — Non-JUPAS Local Applicants.

To accept the offer, you should follow the instructions in the email sent by THEi and complete the e-registration procedures on or before 13 August 2025, 12:00 noon.

The e-registration procedures (including submission of e-registration form via VTC “New Student Registration System” and uploading the photo for student identity card) will take around 30 minutes to complete. You are strongly advised to complete e-registration procedures by the specified deadline to secure your study place.

Failure to complete the e-registration procedures before the specified deadline will be regarded as declining the offer.

A student may not be simultaneously enrolled in more than one full-time programme leading to a qualification in VTC without prior approval. Otherwise, you will be asked to retain only one programme and to withdraw from all other programme(s). Under such circumstances, all fees paid are not refundable.

Class Commencement Date

The class commencement date for full-time Degree programmes in the 2025/26 academic year is 1 September 2025 (Monday).

Financial assistance

The Student Development Office of THEi provides advice and assistance to needy students on their applications for financial assistance schemes administered by the HKSAR Government Student Finance Office (SFO). Students planning to apply via SFO for the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) and / or Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) should note that:

  • To be eligible to apply for FASP / NLSPS in the 2025/26 academic year, you need to be a registered full-time student (“full-time” study refers to a curriculum of a minimum of 30 credit points per year);
  • You must notify the SFO in writing immediately when there are changes in your study information including the tuition fees to be paid for the 2025/26 academic year (please refer to the course coding sheet available at the SFO’s website).

Other details

Orientation Session

All new students will be invited and required to attend an Orientation Session scheduled to be held between 19 and 28 August 2025. You will be notified of the detailed arrangement of the Orientation Session by email and through your student email account after registration. Important information that you will need to refer to during your study at THEi, including the Institute’s student handbook and your programme document will be distributed to you before commencement of the semester.

Tuition Fees for Semester One and Other Fees

The acceptance fee of $5,000 you have paid will form part of the tuition fee for Semester One, 2025/26 academic year. Payment of the remaining tuition fees and caution money should be made by 25 August 2025 (Mon).

Students who have outstanding fees in respect to their previous study in VTC are required to clear the outstanding fees owed to VTC before they are re-admitted to a VTC programme. Even if the outstanding fees are revealed after they have been re-admitted and class commencement, these students are still liable to settle their outstanding debts. Otherwise, their study transcripts, award certificates, and related certification of all VTC programmes will be withheld.

Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP)

SSSDP was launched as a new initiative under the 2014 Policy Address to subsidise about 1,000 students per cohort starting from the 2015/16 academic year to pursue designated full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes in selected disciplines.

It has been announced in the 2017 Policy Address that SSSDP would be regularised in the 2018/19 academic year with an increase in the number of subsidised places to about 3,000 per cohort.

THEi offers the following 10 subsidised programmes under the scheme in 2025/26 academic year.

The Admission Scores in Academic Year 2024/25 refers to the average score of the best 5 HKDSE subjects, including English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development#, and one elective subject of admitted students in 2024.#An “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development will be counted as “Level 2” of one Elective Subject in the admission score calculation.Subject levels/grades are converted into numeric values according to the following scoring scale:
