Application FAQ (for THEi staff only)
1. Can I submit an application? 
- You can submit an application in the capacity of a principal investigator or project leader if you are a full-time THEi academic staff. Individual funding schemes may have additional eligibility requirements.
2. How do I submit an application? 
- Click the scheme that you are interested in. Read the application information carefully, then download and complete the application form. Some funding schemes may also ask for other supporting documents.
- Notify your Programme Leader by email and follow other internal procedures as indicated by your Faculty.
- The completed application form and other related documents should be electronically submitted to the SOPHIA system.
3. Where should I submit the application to? 
4. What happens after I have submitted my application to SOPHIA? 
- Your application will go through the internal review and institutional endorsement procedures.
- We will contact you if clarifications or revisions are necessary. This is to ensure that the application complies with the funder’s and THEi’s requirements.
- Institutional endorsement is required before external submission. The Research Office will submit the endorsed application to the funder.
5. When will I know the application result? 
- It varies by funding schemes. In general, it takes about 6 months to obtain the result.
- The Research Office will notify you by email once the result is announced.
