Applicants can apply for admission to the full-time bachelor’s degree programmes under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP) through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS). For details, please refer to SSSDP Website.

Direct Admission of Non-JUPAS Local Applicants
Deadline for application: 5 September 2025, 5:00 p.m.
The intake places of programmes under the SSSDP are mainly allocated through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS). The SSSDP participating institution will also admit Non-JUPAS Local ApplicantsNote via direct admission of no more than 20% of the subsidised places of each selected programme.

Note:
- Applicants applied for 2025 JUPAS are NOT eligible to apply for the bachelor’s degree programme (Year 1 Entry) under the SSSDP through Direct Admission — Non-JUPAS Local Applicants.
- Applicants with HKDSE Examination results only MUST apply via JUPAS.

Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP)
SSSDP was launched as a new initiative under the 2014 Policy Address to subsidise about 1,000 students per cohort starting from the 2015/16 academic year to pursue designated full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes in selected disciplines.
It has been announced in the 2017 Policy Address that SSSDP would be regularised in the 2018/19 academic year with an increase in the number of subsidised places to about 3,000 per cohort.
THEi offers the following 10 subsidised programmes under the scheme in 2025/26 academic year.

1 Students under the SSSDP will receive subsidies per annum. The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of the programme (i.e. for a period of 4 years).
2 Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
3 The programme has been included in the “Pilot Project on the Development of Applied Degree Programmes” of the Education Bureau.

1. The tuition fees shown above are at the fee level of 2025/26. The fees for the subsequent years after 2025/26 shall be subject to annual adjustments capped at the movement of the Composite Consumer Price Index (CCPI) announced by the Government.
2. The annual tuition fees, shown in the above, are calculated based on the average credit points per year multiplied by the per-credit fee and are shown for reference only. The actual annual tuition fees payable by individual students may vary from the amounts shown.
3. The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of the programmes, i.e. for a period of 4 years.
4. Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
5. The programme is undergoing a learning programme re-accreditation exercise for the Academic Year 2025/26, which may lead to change in the number of credit points required for graduation and the tuition fee per credit. However, the revised total tuition fee will not exceed the total tuition fee listed above.
Admission Scores for Academic Year 2024/25
The Admission Scores in Academic Year 2024/25 refers to the average score of the best 5 HKDSE subjects, including English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development#, and one elective subject of admitted students in 2024.
#An “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development will be counted as “Level 2” of one Elective Subject in the admission score calculation.
